I read that Kodak built the first digital still camera. Any comments?

IIRC I was thinking of getting a digital back for my F3, and they were
the only company selling them. The price varied from 10 to 25K. I don't
recall the differences, but I felt even the lower priced one was too much.

Here is a shot of an early Nikon as modified by Kodak.

The cards in the window appear to attribute the camera to 1983.

I took this in the Paris Museum of 'Arts & Metieres' in 2013. It was
in a glass case surrounded by bright lights. There was no position
from which I could get a shot free of glass reflections.

Damn blasts from the past make me want to babble about
the time Bill [Willard Sterling] Boyle popped in to my lab and
said (paraphrased) so what are you working on in here?
~
Ah, but that had little to do with my photography.

However, it does (in some obscure way) link me to those
first digital cameras. ;-)
