As it says... there has been a lot of marketing hype and disinformation.

At the moment there is a change from terrestrial analogue to
terrestrial digital TV. Then there is the satellite digital (free)
that has just arrived and the normal satellite stuff like sky that has
been around a while.

We have also had the blue-Ray and HD "High Definition" debacle that
has finally just finished. Along with "HD ready", HD I and HD P TV's no
wonder people are confused

I think that now the Blue Ray-HD fight has finished and HDp has taken
over from the HDi screens people will start to know what they want and
LG will find the market will start moving (credit crunch not
withstanding)

No, but HD scientific programs, documentaries, the better drama series,
historical material shows, movies, Sci-Fi, news programs, music videos
and concerts of all kinds, and sports (for those interested in the vast glut
of the last...) are...

So HD TV does not use images (graphos) produced with light (photo) by
digital means? Last time I looked the group was not called
rec.still.photo.digital, although uk.tech.digital-tv would be more
appropriate, at least for the UK.

Right as rain. Lacrosse and Hockey esp. benefit from the higher clarity.

Moreover, it's possible to capture digitally, [with a DSLR!; or film,
then scan], a frozen frame on a large HD TV. Try it sometime for a laugh.
