In 1914 the Passenger Pigeon had been shot into extinction, so your wish has
been partially fulfilled. However, it seems some folks are working to reverse
that extinction.

They can't rebuild it, they have to make it from scratch. My guess?
They'll come up with a bird that is a prolific reproducer and that has
a taste for human flesh.
