Considering what CHDK allows you to do, the simple act of loading the
CHDK onto the memory card(s) so it will run seems a bounty, not a curse.
Further, it's less prone to unintended consequences. If you ever load
a buggy CHDK simply removing the card and re-starting restores the camera.

Stop bitching over the good work others have done and for which you get
the benefit without an iota of effort or a dime of cost.

Documentation for using CHDK in SX30 needs some more work.


So work on it.

I'm not complaining about it at all - I've never used it. I was simply
attempting to explain how it works. Yes, it would be very convenient if
you were on the road and found that, for one reason or another, you
needed to get some additional memory cards.

When I'm on the road with my camera I bring a laptop so in the above
case I could either offload images to the laptop or use the laptop to
put the firmware on the new memory cards.
