Default Keeping D70 from resetting picture name each time pics are downloaded

On my Nikon CS2200, the camera keeps track of the number of the last picture
taken and even when all of the picture files are downloaded and deleted from
the camera the next picture will have a number that's one more than the last
picture taken. This is very useful since it allows combining shots from
multiple shoots into one computer folder.

The Nikon D70 (at least the way I have it configured) resets the picture
number to 0001 each time "all" files are deleted from the memory and I have
to keep creating new folders for each shoot, something that I don't always
want to do because some shoots span multiple days on location.

Is there any way to keep the D70 from resetting the count?

TIA
Norm

Yes, although I sold mine so I can't look it up. It is, however, in your
manual.
