Kodak DX6490 and SD card Problem
Is the card formatted as FAT or FAT32? I have had issues with newer cards
formatted using FAT32 and not being able to be read by the camera. "Greg" wrote in message om... I'm having a strange problem with my DX6490 and SD card. When I manually save files (pictures) to the SD card from my hard drive via a USB card reader connected to my computer, I can read the pictures off the SD card at high transfer rate. When I attempt to read pictures saved to the card by the camera with the card reader, it is very, very slow. And Windows places errors in the event log as follows: "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk5\D during a paging operation." Remember, this error only occurs for files written to the SD card by the camera (i.e., when a picture is taken). It does not occur for files which I transferred to the card from my hard drive. It's like the camera is writing bad data to the card. For example, a 1M picture takes about 12 seconds to display if it was placed on the card by the camera. If I save a 1M picture from my hard drive to the card, it takes about 1 second to display. Any suggestion? |

It is formatted FAT, which is the format used by Kodak cameras. I've
tried formatting with the camer and with XP. Neither helps. "Karl Burrows" wrote in message . .. Is the card formatted as FAT or FAT32?
