Default Canon D40X Lenses

Does anyone have experience with - and an opinion about the quality of -
some of the standard lenses that comes with the Canon D40X 10.1 MP camera?
Standard lenses include:

- 18-135mm

- 18-55mm + 55-200mm

- 18-55mm alone

nikon makes the d40x.
canon makes the 40d.

as for which lenses, it depends what you want to shoot and how much
money you want to spend.

That's Nikon D40X, not Canon.

MP camera? Standard lenses include:

- 18-135mm

- 18-55mm + 55-200mm

- 18-55mm alone

I have all of those Nikon lenses and all are excellent. Note, however, that
there are (later) VR versions of the 18-55 and 55-200 lenses which are
better. They are better largely because of being VR (vibration reduction,
Nikon's term for image stabilization), but they are slightly better
optically anyway. In the case of the 55-200 especially, it can be hard to
hand-hold the non-VR version of that lens at the long end of its zoom range
steady enough to get really sharp pictures, though this depends somewhat on
shooting conditions.

The 18-135 was introduced as the kit lens for the Nikon D80. It is a fine
lens, but there is no VR version.

The 18-55 (non VR) that originally came as the kit lens for the D40 and D40X
is very sharp, especially in the middle of its zoom range, and since it is
not very long it does not need VR as much as some other lenses do. But if
getting the 18-55 and 55-200 combination, I would look for VR versions of
the lenses.
