Seeking GoPro Recommendation
I am in the USA and I want to send a GoPro camera to somebody in Germany
via Amazon.com Anticipated Uses: - Documenting the build of a boat - Showing the boat's operation on the water - Documenting rock climbing I am thinking that Black is overkill (and muy expensivo...) and the most el-cheapo will leave the user wanting for some sort of functionality. But I know nothing... Would anybody venture a recommendation? Add-Ons? (one of the floating "Bobber" handles for sure, but which one?) -- Pete Cresswell |

Seeking GoPro Recommendation
Per (PeteCresswell):
I am thinking that Black is overkill (and muy expensivo...) and the most el-cheapo will leave the user wanting for some sort of functionality. After watching a few YouTube reviews, I am coming around to thinking Black may be a contender - for the higher rez, higher frame rate, and the ability to take stills every so often while shooting video. But that begs the question of Black 3 vs Black 4. Black 3 has been discontinued, but remains available on Amazon... and is a good $150 cheaper. Can anybody think of a reason why I shouldn't go for the Black 3 instead of Black 4? Or am I no the wrong track with Black? -- Pete Cresswell |

Or am I no the wrong track with Black? According to these guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lng6i5PSeCw Black is not the ticket for anybody except a professional. Their recommendation summarized: - Plain-vanilla Hero @$130 for somebody starting out. Does 1080 @30FPS. OR - Hero4 Silver @$400 gives better audio, better lens, slow-mo at 60 or 120 FPS, and has built-in LCD on the back. Unless somebody argues otherwise, I think I am going for the Hero4 Silver. -- Pete Cresswell |
