Default Wanted unusable LF view camera for lab's lobby

The local lab I use asked me to keep my eye's open for a
'doesn't need to work' 8x10 view camera for display in their
lobby/gallery.

He gave me a budget of $150 tops (including shipping to 49423).

Is this realistic and if so, does anyone have anything beyond reapir
but still presentable for display ?

Thanks

Murray

Ebay! You make out best with old 8x10's with missing backs. One
significant shortcoming is finding one with a lens, even a broken lens that
looks decent.

Somebody is selling a Seneca without bellows on Ebay right now. It's the
second or third time it's been listed. Unless we're facing a flood of
bellows free cameras. You'd have to rig something up to look like bellows
but if you don't intend to use it they wouldn't have to be fancy.

Last week I bought a 5x7 tailboard camera for not much money. The seller
called it just a bellows but from the pictures I'm expecting most of a
tailboard camera. At worse I'll get a new to me bellows for a fraction of new.

I have two old Kodak 2D 8x10 cameras. One with a worn out bellows and the
other the wood has been partially restored. It has an 8x10 back on it and an
old 18" Wollensak Velostigmat barrel lens that aint in the best of shape. If
you were to switch the bellows from the junker to the partial restored camera,
you would have a nice display piece.
Im looking to get rid of it as I have lost interest in spending more money on
another 8x10. I can send photo's if yopu would like. Well talk.

A couple promising contacts so far (one direct; I haven't figured out
who's who yet).

I'm trying to get ahold of Mike (the guy who asked me) this weekend,
if possible & see if I can just get him on-line to this thread...it'll
be simpler.

Thanks all.

I thought I posted a reply, but don't see it...(?)

I will try to get Mike directly involved (the shopper) - simpler that
way. Not sure if I can obtain his home number Saturday, but I'll try.

Thanks

Murray
