TO ALL WHO RESPONDED TO - On a Mac, copying .tif to .jpg questions

To all that responded: What I'm looking for, if possible, is another Mac program, other than Graphic Converter (GC), that will not have that loss of detail. It is entirely possible that I am not using GC to the best of my ability. When I create a JPEG, I put the quality at 100%, and still get the loss. I close the newly created JPEG file, then reopen it to compare side by side. You will always get the loss - JPEG is what's known as a lossy format. It sacrifices image data for file size. That being said, it shouldn't be as bad as you seem to be experiencing. It's possible that there may be some colour-profile strangeness going on. What application did you use to create the TIFFs? |
