The Nikon 18-200 DX. From what I've read, it's physically incompatible
with a TC because there's not enough clearance for the rear elements.

This seems to be the lens that everybody loves to make fun of, but I find
the huge zoom range wonderfully liberating and don't regret buying it.

it's incompatible with nikon's teleconverters but third party ones fit
just fine. as for how well they work, that's a different issue.

The 18-200mm VR is an excellent at the price, providing you understand and
can live with its limitations. I can, and am very pleased with the lens.
