Here is an example of just how bad it can get. I might do better with HDR or stacked exposure bracket. but realisticall, the sensor is just not up to low light stills. https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-GCKKmPt/0/d504f81a/5K/DJI_0002-5K.jpg That's not outrageously bad. This took me about 3 minutes in Photoshop CS6: auto levels, modify levels a bit, despeckle, add a mask for the sky, brightness / contrast. And that's starting from the jpg. I imagine that there's more to work with in the dng. http://makowiec.org/DJI_0002-5K-modified.jpg -- Joe Makowiec http://makowiec.org/ Email: http://makowiec.org/contact/?Joe Usenet Improvement Project: http://twovoyagers.com/improve-usenet.org/ |

Unfortunately the pano program that DJI uses, captures those frames using the video rather than the stills camera, and the pano is presented as a single image. So no individual frame tinkering other than any JPEG post adjustments of the complete pano using your software of choice. -- Regards, Savageduck |

Chinese engineering. ;-) Besides the interpolation, is there perhaps an AF or motion blur issue? Just wondering. There are limitations with such a small sensor, so I would not expect the performance of an M4/3, or APS-C. Add to that the fixed f/2.8 aperture, the lack of an absolutely stable shooting position, and no IBIS there could well be an AF, or motion blur issue. I think that given the fundamental differences between the digital cameras we are familiar with, and the cameras in these drones it is tough to make fair comparisons other than from initial impressions of the images. For what it is worth, I am just enjoying having something different to work with, accepting that it is never going to replace any of my Fujifilm cameras, just giving me something very different. -- Regards, Savageduck |
