Dave would be cool, we have a Dave TV channel why not a camera called dave.

Please tell the class how that would relate to layered sensor
technology...

We don't know for a fact that the camera will have layered sensor
tech. We don't know anything about the camera aside from rumors.
Therefore, Dave of Fred are perfectably names.

But Lyle is good, too.

What do you think that it should be called? Everything is "D" (except

the discontinued Nikon F6) these days and Olympus among jettisoned it

out of their nomenclature.

With this major (not the brit) shift in technology in mind: What do you

think a new "7d" should be called?

And the winner is.... Me!

The new 7d should be called EOS 7L. L for layers. I'll pick up the

price, a Dacia Duster I believe, at my connivance.

Feather duster you mean - pack of three at your local 99c store.

I've got one similar to these.

No need for me acquire more of that stuff. It been around for years and
looks almost pristine... That's quality for you!

We're not really intrested in your sex life that belongs in another NG.

Oki... I guess that that was unavoidable but it was also unintended when
posting ;-p You brits se thing out of context differently, sort of... My
guess is that it's your collective frustration!

Who the Hell cares what the damn thing is called?

Canon Marketing.

Kee-rect!

Now, no one commented on the word "connivance"?! Either a Freudian slip,
a typo, or a clever word play. And, yes, "price" is also an error.
