Default Any known probs with Eos 50Es?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a canon EOS 50E after the death of my 650 and was
wondering if there were any known faults that develop in these cameras
with age/use to look out for.

Cheers

I had two, both from new, and they both rewound film randomly and without
warning. Got rid of both of them - beware, you might be being offered one of
them! The camera is now more than 10 years old, so it's possible that the
official spares situation may be unfavourable.

When they worked, they were OK, and the ECF worked well. BUT, it's not nice
to be shooting white water rafting to have the film rewind unexpectedly and
fairly close to the beginning.
I also had a serious under-exposure problem when using the 380EX flash and
wide angle lenses.

If you can afford it, go for an EOS3 - they're getting cheaper by the day.
Or try the 30V, rather cheaper and kitted out with some pretty advanced
features. Sort of successor to the 50E, and the ECF works well even with me
and my bifocals, which fooled the ECF in the EOS3.
