Museo Silver Rag paper
Gave it a try...B&W thus far.
Really like this paper. Even with a magnifying glass, I'm not sure I could tell this from a silver-gelatin print |

Even with a magnifying glass, I'm not sure I could tell this from a silver-gelatin print and even if you could, who cares. those of us who actually care about their prints. that's not caring. it's trying to find a problem when there isn't any to be found, particularly since ink jet printers do a *better* job than silver gelatin can. there's also nothing special about silver gelatin prints. it was just the only thing that existed at the time. normally, people don't look at photos under a microscope or magnifying glass to examine film grains or printer dots. instead they step back and enjoy the photos as they were meant to be viewed. if you truly cared about your prints, you'd make sure that they look good from normal viewing distances, not under a scope. |
