Like I said try out the Hi TI you will not be disappointed.
Brillant color,Water proof, cant even tear it by hand. I'd suggest taking a print you like with you into the store when you compare them. Many printers can't print a deep rich black like you get on real photo paper. Question, since those small printer (meaning 4x6 only) are in $150+ range, the bigger photo printer are also in the $150+ range, should I go for the bigger one? If I was going to get a printer, it would be one that could make large prints. Make that LARGE. Question, if I better off with the bigger one, in spite of the nice small size, should I only use those printer only when printing photos and keep using the DeskJet as regular main printer. In other words, use photo printer with USB and leave the DeskJet in parallel port (since USB is hot-swap)? Unless it's cheaper to run I don't see any reason to keep two inkjet printers. If you wan't something useful for photography in the same price range, a Wacom Graphire tablet is about $100, and if you do any retouching it's worth twice that. I guess we have opposite tastes. I have a Canon S50 but mostly (95%) of the
time, I will use a Nikon D70. I have 2 hp printers. Both hooked up to USB. When you print something, you have to select which printer you want to use. Any who, I use a HP photosmart 8150 just for photos (especially 4x6,5x7 and 8x10's). Cost per photo is still higher than the other printer makers. But the photos printed out look great. I have received many compliments on the photos printed from the 8150. "I didn't want a photo printer because I am not expertise with digital image " You can use the software that came with the 8150 or plug the compact flash card into the 8150 and print photos or I use Photoshop Elements 3. It is a great program but it does require a learning curve. The learning time is worth the effort. It has kept many of my photos from being dumped to the trashcan. You already have a great camera so get a printer that will show off the great images it takes. P.S. Learn about the other modes, not just auto. You will be surprise what that camera can do with the other modes. Good luck! Just a thought! "CNT" wrote in message ... My NG reader doesn't download all the posts. So, forgive me if this is just another repeated question. I used to have Nikon 880 and now have Canon S45. I am still pretty much in Auto mode. I enjoy uploading the images to Walmart website and have them print 4x6 (and some larger) pictures, and I go pick 'em up at the store. I didn't want a photo printer because I am not expertise with digital image (let alone I am in process of video editing with simple steps (no Hollywoods)). My wife insists. She wants to buy me "something" for Christmas and begs me to tell her which photo printer is good one. Well, I do like those 4x6 photo printer, but not sure which or what to look for. To start off, I would pick HP 4x6 printer (since using HP DeskJet printer for years and still strong). I like the smallness of Epson model, but my mother-in-law has a Epson printer and no need for me to tell the story! First of all the tabs break off and is clean leaving a full 4x6 also it
keeps the fingers off of the print, I see no problem. "Chris D" wrote in message ... On Wed, 10 Nov 2004 03:19:30 GMT "Robert" wrote: Like I said try out the Hi TI you will not be disappointed. Good point Ken, cant seem to please everybody, always someone will find a
fault. I like the printer myself no problems. The tabs dont tear off, it breaks off living the ends clean. "Ken Weitzel" wrote in message news:meskd.175688$Pl.24459@pd7tw1no... Thank you to all that replied.
I will look into HP 8150 (the inkjet ones, lol, the laser are nice). Any who, I use a HP photosmart 8150 just for photos (especially 4x6,5x7 and 8x10's). Cost per photo is still higher than the other printer makers. But the photos printed out look great. I have received many compliments on the photos printed from the 8150. I know. This was one of the reasons why I bought the S45, having tons of features. Just that no time to sit down and browse around. I did made an appt with a friend (a photographer) to explain and show me the features, but an emerceny came up for him. One thing I felt that it seems to be better having like a SLR due the fact they have more buttons around rather than having to go to the menu and make the selections. But, that's OT for this thread. P.S. Learn about the other modes, not just auto. You will be surprise what that camera can do with the other modes. |

That's actually good to hear - The ones I've seen actually tore, and left a noticably fuzzy edge... If there's some breakable ones, that are a clean edge, then that does sound like a better idea - thanks for the info! -Chris D |
