If this was a math question on the SATs, most students would notice the
pattern, and probably write "$1800" in that blank space beside 2008!

Probably 100% correct, but and I can't see them allowing a FF to fall below
$1800 for a further five years because any lower and people would not buy
those EF-S lenses.

Read the Canon full frame paper, the answer is burried in there. A big
drop in FF prices wont be on until the chip industry moves to bigger
stepper reticle size from the current 25x35 or so. Watch your semitech
news bullitins for the next step.

This is no unlikley BTW, yeild managment is getting very good, and
being able to stich a load of cache and several cores on one chip is a
big plus.

Obviously you're spend way too much time in front of the pooter and not
enough time behind the lens...

Why on earth would anyone want to use a 110 camera?

Why indeed, but as he said - ...yet, so I was asking.

Hello, Scott:

Indeed, except that the Pentax Auto110 is one of the world's few SLR
cameras of the 110 format, and the only one featuring interchangeable
lenses, which I also happen to own.

As to Stewy's question: Last March, I bought my first 35mm SLR -- a
brand-new, clearance-priced ($69.99USD), Pentax ZX-60 kit; it came
bundled with a 28mm F3.5-80mm F5.6 lens and a carrying case.

I haven't even tried out the ZX-60, either! It's not a matter of my
spending "way too much time in front of the pooter," yet has more to do
with the hassles (and expenses) relating to film photography. Digital is
infinitely more convenient and affordable, and my Kodak digicams have
combined to shoot well over 2,000 pictures, this year, alone.

Those Pentax SLR's may continue going unused, but they were simply too
cheap, to resist. g

Cordially,
John Turco

With an APS-C sensor you get a lot more reach with your telephotos, and if

No, you do not get a lot more reach. You just get cropping for free.

Not with an EF-S lens - which is what I meant about carrying around less
glass.

Let's face it - reduced DOF isn't always your friend, and both sensor sizes
have both their advantages and disadvantages.

As for cropping: if you're using an EF lens and your APS-C sensor has 62.5%
the pixels of your FF, yeah you've been cropped. If the pixel count is the
same, you really haven't been - you've just been using the optically sweetest
part of the image :-).
