The trademark isn't a standard. It's just a word.

A trademark (Service mark) is the right to use a word, symbol or phrase
in a given context. It is intellectual property. The owner of the
property has the right to impose legal conditions on its use by a third
party.

There isn't any, at least none that would be accepted by everyone.

You must be blind. (And it appears to be intensional.
Try opening your eyes and reading the writing on the
wall!)

Nobody said a trademark is a standard.

If you don't open your eyes, how do you expect to
see what is right in front of you?

Someone previously posted this, but take a look at

http://www.opengroup.org/platform/si...specification/

The operative specifications a

* ISO/IEC 9945
* IEEE Std 1003.1
* Single UNIX Specification.

You might be silly enough to claim that because the Open
Group owns the trademark that their specification is
arbitrary, but just how do you reconcile the
stardardization by IEEE and ISO/IEC?

Obviously you're wrong. There is a standard. You just don't like it.

Wouldn't know. It would almost certainly have to be a version of

Or a version of Minesweeper floating on a boatload of money.

Not everything can be bought.

For every Howard Hughes, there are thousands of Paris Hiltons, Donald Trumps,
and others who have lots of money and are happy in consequence. If money
didn't buy happiness, there wouldn't be so many people trying to get more of
it.

The same could be said of alcohol and other recreational drugs.

Yes, except that money actually works.

If it does ... explain Howard Huges.
