Default Ilford HP5 Developing

Hi all,

I've done E-6 processing and have a roll of this Ilford B&W HP5 film.
I never did B&W before

I figure its straight forward. What Chemicals and whos should I use.

I am eyeing...

(spiral Tank)
Ilford DD-X
Ilford IlfoStop
Ilford Ilfotol

Do I need the wash aid?
Will these have or be affected by a tank used for E6 and vise/versa?

Any suggestions on 'other' chems are appreciated.

Thanks all

Martin

No, but you will need some fixer..... Ilford Rapid Fixer or Hypam are
both good, skip the powdered Ilfofix II.....

Will these have or be affected by a tank used for E6 and vise/versa?

Make sure you clean the tank well, and it should be OK, I used to do B&W
and C41 all the time, using the same tank. Just make sure you wash
using dish detergent and rinse thoroughly, then make sure everything is
dry.....

If you don't want to wash your film for 30
minutes you should use wash aid. Cuts the
wash time down to 5 minutes.

Hi Martin

I always process HP5 in Ilford ID-11 (or Kodak D76 - same thing).
Dilute 1+3
20'C
22 minutes

Don't bother with a stop bath - just use 2 water rinses.

Any Fixer will be OK - I use Ilford Hypam

Wash in 5 changes of water - agitating well between changes.

Tanks can be used for multi purposes - just make sure you wash WELL between uses so no contamination occurs.

Best wishes
Ray
