Don't you wish they had an ear operation that could make you hear like a 15
year old again?

It's not my ears, that I wish for that kind of opearation.

It's my knees. And some other parts too.

Yup! I had to have cortisone shots in my right knee, but that is OT for
a photo NG unless it hampers taking low level macro shots.

I have little problem getting down for a low angle shot. The issue is
getting up again.
BTW did the cortisone help?

It helped with the symptoms and the almost disableing pain allowing me
to move about normally. However it is not a cure, just a temporary fix.
My orthopedist has a few other things in mind for something a little
longer lasting.
In my case the MRI showed some mild (the pain was by no means mild, it
was crippling) arthritis behind the knee cap. The bone wearing surfaces
and the meniscus cartilage & ligaments were fine, so there was no
surgical fix. The only thing he could do was use an anti-inflamitory
injection at the problem site. He recommended against a systemic drug
as my problem was/is very localized.

I have arthritis that is definitly not local. many years ago I tried
cortisone shots, they helped for a few months. Because of the
potentially negative effects, I would rather live with the pain, and
periodically switch to different NASIDs. Because of my ICD I cannot have
an MRI, so I have to live within my limitations. For that reason I have
scratched the Galapogos and breeding puffins from my bucket list. That
decision was made on my last trip to Maine, when I fell on what should
have been an easy climb down and had serious problems getting back up ;-(

Before auto focus I used my left eye for focusing and viewing most of the time, no partiualar reason just seemed to happen that way. Still prefer my left eye to the viewfinder. I'm right handed so maybe that's it.

I'm right handed but my dominant eye is the left. Without thinking
about it, I shoot a rifle as would any righthander but use my left eye
to sight it. This used to bother hell out of instructors back in my
army days.

I shoot left handed - which is a bitch with a bolt action.

I am the same, and the more I hear from others, it really is not that
unusual, it seems.

Not so much with combat rifles, but certainly left hand actions and
stocks are available for sporting and target rifles. Then for those
shooters with off side dominant eyes there are off-set sights. I have
known many right hand target shooter with left dominant eyes who use(d)
off-set sights (both front and rear micrometer peep sights off-set
between ½ to 2 inches so that the shooter's head can be kept in a
comfortable posture.
There are even off-set sights available for AR-15/M4, M16.

....and if you favor optics you can get off-set scope, Trijicon, or Red
Dot mounts.
