I was surprised to find out that they were quite inexpensive because they were government property paid for by taxpayers. -- best regards, Neil |

Not anywhere as much as some of his original prints. Our local museum presented many of his National Park prints a few years ago. I was surprised to find out that they were quite inexpensive because they were government property paid for by taxpayers. There are many of his prints to be found around the World as they were churned out but his studio assistants, using his specific print instructions. These were printed in various sizes, and sold to fund his business, and eccentricity. His original prints are a different matter. In 2006 “Moonrise, Hernandez New Mexico” sold for $609,600. I seriously doubt if his station wagon would be valued much over $100K, and then it would only be the provenance, and association to Adams that would have elevated the value. Especially as that vehicle would have seen some hard miles. So perhaps fully restored it might fetch $100-$120K. Other work of his such as the original prints of “The Tetons and the Snake River”, “Clearing Winter Storm”, “Monolith, The Face of Half Dome”, and “The Moon and Half Dome” all have values today that approach, if not exceed $1M. ....but I am sure that you are able to buy $20-$500 copies of any of those. -- Regards, Savageduck |
