Default Pictures of NJ Storefronts

I finally made it out to NJ to get pictures of the camera dealers there.
Quite a few of the Brooklyn dealers have moved to NJ, so the number to take
had been increasing. I talked a friend into doing the driving. It was
certainly easier to have a driver and a navigator. The Google directions
only took us down a dead end road once.

There are always interesting things one finds on a trip. Like the Central
Digital family got an eviction notice and has moved back to a small
storefront in Brooklyn. Then at Express Cameras, which I already had
pictures taken by another friend but wanted newer ones, I was chased by
three guys. I got up too close to see their sign, which was behind a bush.
They noted my friend's license plate, so he's now all ****ed. One thing I'm
100% sure of is he won't be driving me on any more picture taking trips.

You can see the new pictures here. Pictures 12 through 23 are new. Then I
updated pictures 5-7.

Taking advantage of the summer bicycling weather I have been making lots of
updates to my Brooklyn pictures. I have been recycling numbers. Many
outfits that had more than one picture are being cut back to only one. So
the new pictures have numbers scattered through the range.

And I've also been working on my Manhattan places. I still need to get into
Manhattan during a weekday day to get better pictures. Those are at:

Now for full disclosure. I've become a B&H associate. There are now B&H ads
on these pages. Be warned that if you click on one and then buy something I
get a small commission.

I drove past Beach Camera last year when I was in Bridgewater, NJ. I had
ordered from them with success in the past, and my first thought was
"Wow, they're really a store!"

Cool - do you work at the store? Are you the guy who works the counter
in front of all the unsold Sigma stuff?

That's nice, but it would be nicer still if you also got a
commission (much smaller, of course) for ad clicks that don't result
in immediate sales. Some might be catalysts for sales that are only
made after returning to B&H's website several days later, but I
suppose that that kind of detailed tracking would be difficult.

It wouldn't make a difference anyway since it is smart and good web surfing
practice to bypass all the click-through and redirects by going directly to
the website you desire. Of course, one should always have all click-through
and redirectors blocked as I do and none of this is even a second thought.
Looks like someone isn't getting their nickel from me.

Good for you, and I can do that too. But in addition to generally
bypassing click-throughs/redirectors, I see nothing wrong with
helping good guys such as Don to earn something for what he has
unselfishly provided with his website. I'd consider it much less
odious to have an almost immeasurably small amount of what I might
pay to B&H get redirected to Don than to have a much greater amount
(in transaction fees, etc.) go to not-so-good-guy eBay, as you do.
You'll most assuredly burn in Mazola some day for being such a
crass, selfish capitalist. Said image triggered by hearing a radio
guy comment on the joys of deep fried pork chops. g

Well, aren't you a bitch. Sometimes it's nice to support those who are
doing the public a free service.

Spam clear and simple. I don't care how "politely" he's wrapping it up in a
usenet post and an UNWANTED public service. Usenet is NOT FOR COMMERCIAL
INTERESTS.

Get the **** out of here with your lousy spam crap you ****ing asshole.

I'll be sure to tell everyone to avoid B&H for their sneaky way they spam
usenet. I used to think they were one of the dealers worth supporting. I even
bought from them in the past. Never again. And I'll never suggest them to anyone
else again either.

Now, aren't you glad you did such a nice "public service" on behalf of B&H.

Actually, statistically speaking, he likely is.. I mean, this is *you*
ranting.. Population, 1. Sphere of influence, at the *outside*, 1000
(being generous)..

whether or not he was spamming is irrelevant to the fact that *you*
chucking a tanty is likely immaterial to him. That, and your use of
language, while colourful and passionate, somewhat reduces the level of
seriousness we (at least I) assign to you.

B+H will be devasted, but please note it is not their doing. It's Don's.

There's nothing sneaky about it. I'm 1000% up-front about who I am and
where I work and why I'm here. Don't a good guy, performing a public
service and he was gracious enough to let folks know what's what on
his site. Nothing snealy there either.

I'm going to buy extra from B&H now because of "SPAM ALERT."
