Default Cut film rolls

Hi All,

Newbie question: I have close to a hundred film rolls that I would like
to scan with the Minolta Dimage Dual IV so I need to cut them in
stripes of 6.

The problem is the film is curled and I'm not sure what's the best way
to do this.
I tried cutting one stripe but it is still to curled to properly fit
into the holder.

Are there any photo labs that would do this or is there any way I can
do it myself?

Regards,
Sebastian

Why not re-roll the film emulsion-side outwards, wrap in clingfilm to hold
in place, and store them that way for a few days? That worked well for me
with rollfilm, and it might work well with 35mm too.

Yes, or he could hang them up with clothespins as if they were drying
again.....Or even rewash them with distilled water and a little Kodak
photoflow, and then rehang them.......

I've certainly noticed that hanging them with a weight on the end
(usually just a heavy clip) overnight straightens out the film I've
just developed. If I just let it dry only an hour and then try to
print or scan them, there's too much curl to work with them easily.

Yeah.....I wish there was some way to get it flat in both planes.....Even
the slight lateral curve interferes with its focus in the film scanner. Oh
well, I suppose I could go to large format, but I will probably end up going
digital, if I live long enough.....
