the ecumenical patriarch...
Possibly you don't know this, but since 6/16 the great pan-orthodox
synode is being held in Crete, the first one since the schism of 1065!it's being planned during the last 55 years!! it's been marked with the absence of the Churches of Russia, Bulgary and Georgia and the patriarch of Antiochia. Here are 4 photos I took in the Cathedral Church of St Titos of the mass being held with the Arch Bishop of Crete Erineos and the Ecumenical Patriarch himself Bartholomy. You can see the Red Cross rescuers, some naval officers wearing the "aspirin" as it's called colloquially by sailors, the church itself also the hierarchs during the mass (I couldn't get any closer because of security). There was even a police captain! you see such high-ranking officers rarely on the streets. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n12xl4bvo2...I0020.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/64skupe4cs...I0021.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/m2nc0pwmy2...I0024.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/2md7xqh7wy...I0025.JPG?dl=0 |
