Nikon D70 vs NIKON coolpix 8700
Hi there i was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on
this matter. A picture taken with the D70 and a 35mm lens (50mm equivalent with 1.5X) compared with a picture from nikon coolpix 8700 which is a higher resolution camera (8 mega pixel) which one would print out better as an 8X10? Would the megapixel advantage of the 8700 create a better print assuming everything was the same, shutter speed, aperture, focal length... etc. How about the lens quality of the 35 f2.8mm nikkor vs say the built in lens of the coolpix? Any opinions or thoughts on this. Thanks, Jeff |

The smaller sensor and high density of the 8700 means more noise than the larger sensor of the D70 and the D70 provides enough pixels to print 10 x 6.6 (in.) @ 300 dpi, and of course larger at slightly lower print dpi (eg: 15x10 @ 200 dpi). -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- [SI rulz] http://www.aliasimages.com/si/rulz.html -- e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch. |
