Another great video!

Will your MA2 make a GPS track as it flies?

A log of every flight is recorded and maintained. That includes a
full GPS track. It can be helpful if for some reason your drone goes down, and
you need to find it.

Anyway, here is the track of yesterday’s flight along the San Antonio
River recorded by the DJI Fly app on my iPhone.

Every time you post something about this, that 1000 bucks is sounding
cheaper and cheaper. Maybe when I have more time on my hands...

I'm with you all the way on this, Bill.

I DO have the time - so perhaps I will! ;-)

Is there any specialist drone Usenet group of which you are aware?

I woke this morning from some profound dreaming about drones, thanks to
this thread (and the great video). Can't remember the details though .

Thanks, I think ...

geoff

The time has come for you to buy a drone. I recommend the DJI Mavic Air 2 (799) with the Fly more bundle, $988.

And... if you don't already have an acceptable "smart phone", you'll need to throw on the costs
associated with that, also.

There is that. I am using a replaced, and now repurposed, and long paid for iPhone 6S+ which I had kept as a spare, but I could have used my, both also long paid for, current iPhone 8 Plus, or my iPad Pro.

Do you currently have a smart phone, or tablet, iOS, or Android? If so which one?

The smoke around here had eased up, and the temperature was a bit more tolerable this morning, so I got out to fly my Mavic Air 2, and to share a little different part of California. This is along the San Antonio River, just North of where I live.

Sadly, it's around 988 in UK pounds - but still very tempting! ;-)

"Ya'll crossed my fenceline; I'm gunna blow you outta the skayyy"

Then you will have the Feds to deal with as the FAA has jurisdiction
of ALL U.S. airspace from ground level, and interfering with any
aircraft manned, or unmanned is a federal offense.

...and I flew within the FAA sUAS regulations for recreational sUAS
flights.

A lot easier out in the country though.

I'm fairly sure that *parking right on a road junction* here in the UK
would be a road traffic violation!

Oddly, I don't see that listed here!

(I very much enjoyed the trip! ;-) )

"MS10 Leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position"?

Ha! :-) That would, no doubt, be 'just the ticket'! ;-) (Pun intended!)

Well spotted, Ken.

Interesting to see the landing. Does the drone automatically look down to
see the landing site?

I had moved the gimbal to look down to check on position, but there are some auto functions.

I was wondering why the landing mat didn't have a "D" on it for Drone rather than a H for helicopter.

There was a dyslexic proof reader in the print shop.
