Leica's SL $12000 camera. The EVF. Big, bright, but...

diopter control. This isn't a new phenomenon. My lowly Panasonic G1 with its measly 400k viewfinder was much better than the 1.2M viewfinder in my original Olympus E-M5. The E-M5 was almost impossible to use for manual focusing. The E-M5II handily corrected that. It seems that pixel-counts are not the only attribute an EVF needs. Weird. I've always found the manual focus in the EM5 dead easy with the focus zoom-in turned on. The EM5M2 EVF is much sharper and it has the option of focus confirmation outlines which make things even easier if that's possible. But for astro stuff with it I still find myself relying on the focus zoom-in as it is less distracting. |
