We just had a prominent lawyer and council member, Wayne Mckeague here
in Queenstown, New Zealand arrested by customs and police for
downloading such images. If he had just browsed on the internet he would
have been within the law but as soon as he downloaded them customs had
him for importing objectable material. His court case is in progress at
present but he has said he will plead guilty. He has already resigned
from the council and will be disbarred from the Law Society. Even though
this type of photography as on this website that was shut down is on the
lower end of the scale society just won't accept it now.

What other forms of intolerance might be next?

I often wonder about people who see pedophilic intent and "sexual
excitement" in every photograph of a child.

about though it looks like I may have been mis-informed on the laws
though I was told this is a new law and that article is 3 months ago. I
was over there before Christmas and there were mass arrests of
pedophiles, it seems like it is a huge problem there though we have it
here in NZ also.

As legislation is made more and more broad and vague, the number of
people who become "criminals" increases.

So a woman raped by a 14-year-old is guilty of an indictable offence?

What are the "legitimate reasons"?

They used (f) (3) to arrest the father because you could see the kids
panties on the swing.

Do the cops there spend a lot of time looking for glimpses of kids'
panties?
