I feel a certain responsibility towards the poor wee thing you know,
wouldn't want it to feel abandoned.

Myself - I have to admit I'm pleased with this one. It's not perfect
- if it was a film it would 'contain scenes of mild clutter' - but
overall I like it. Comments welcome.

Michael - Face on left cut off, silhouette at far end of
vehicle slightly disruptive. Generally like it, works well in B&W, has a
life of its own, a feeling to it.

Al - Nice. The leaf's a little lacking in colour and detail
but the photo works well otherwise. I particularly like the way that in
spite of the random distribution of the drops the refracted background
results in most of the drops having a dark rim pointing towards the
centre, which really draws your eye there.

Jim - I like this one, it's unusual, simple, and well executed.
There's something I don't entirely like about the framing, but I
honestly can't put my finger on what.

Bowser - It really is a picture of Buster's arse. I'm afraid I can't get
past that to the rest of the photo.

Paul - Nicely shot, the colours, framing and lighting work well, but
what is that red line under his arm? It's terribly distracting.

Alan - This really doesn't appeal to me. It's well lit, although there's
a slightly distracting shadow to the left of what I'm assuming in my
ignorance is a light-meter (the tall thing at the back). I like the lens
on the right, being able to see the aperture shape and the coloured
refraction/reflection from the glass.

Bob - It's different and took me a while to work out what I was looking
at. For all that the flash is on-camera and harsh, it might have worked
if you could have bounced it off something. Piece of A4 stuck to the
bottom of the work-surface above and either tilt the flash or use foil
to reflect it up?

Thanks all for of the entries, there're some good ones there.

Cheers,

Tom Hudson

That's easy - you can't read the front of the sign. :-)

The red streak is a car's tail light reflecting in the window. I
actually chose this one against another without but since you can't even
tell it's a window I see why it's totally confusing.

Thanks for your comments!

Neither could Buster. When I showed him the picture, his only comment was
"it makes my ass look huge."

It doesn't do much for me either, but with the clock ticking and supper
waiting at my SO's house... that's all I had time for.
The light meter shaddow is the result of laziness. I could have done a
better setup with the meter standing and the BG seperated more... but,
no time for that, just leaned it against the BG. The shaddow you see is
from the fill light (slightly to right of shooting axis).

Thanks for the comments... I wanted that pic to represent a mouses view from
behind the cupboards, looking into the kitchen... but it was a disaster. I was
very late on this one or I would have done it over, I ran out of time...
