Drum scan story and photos
As some of you know, I recently came into a ScanMate 5000 drum scanner This was a long- distance, dumpster-rescue mission, you could say. Hey, it worked for a while, but then it stopped. I'm not terribly disappointed... I got what I paid for. The URL below has lots of photos of the innards and vital components of the machine, if you've ever been curious about this stuff. Also a bit about how I acquired it and whether it might ever scan again... http://www.terrapinphoto.com/drumscansaga/ It's for nerds like myself who might be interested in the detailed inner workings of a fine machine - seven years old, a technological dinosaur. rafe b. http://www.terrapinphoto.com Drum Scan Saga: http://www.terrapinphoto.com/drumscansaga/ scan snippets http://www.terrapinphoto.com/jmdavis |

"rafe bustin" wrote in message ... http://www.terrapinphoto.com/drumscansaga/ Downright interesting, Rafe. Who else gets to play with $45,000 worth of hardware? What are the symptoms of the failure? Maybe the collective wisdom can noodle it out. |
