alternative to ex 550 and 580

my 550 ex won't fire after i dropped it. zooms, charges, talks to camera
but just won't go off. what non canon brands can compete with these two
flash guns?

No - the ST lacks real manual control (but can be set to 1/16 power).
It also is missing the on-flash FEC, FP mode, strobe mode, and not
least the LCD panel featured on the "Super".
