Default Nikon Capture Editor 1.4.3 / Windows-XP SP-2 problems.

I just upgraded my NCE from 1.4.0 to 1.4.3, and when I try
to close the program a message appears that reads:

“There are still images waiting to be saved. Either wait for these
saves to complete or cancel them before closing Nikon Capture."

After that, the only way to close NCE is through the Windows Task Manager,
and sometimes an error shows :

“NCapture.exe szAppVer : 4.1.2.3006 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000”.

I’m running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 installed, and
although I just learned here that some people are experiencing problems
with NCE and Windows XP with the SP-2 service pack installed,
I wander if there is a fix to solve this, before I try to communicate
with de Nikon support people, which I know it is going to be
time consuming and very difficult.

I’ll appreciate any help regarding this matter.

Thanks in advance.
Paul / (Nikon D70)

FWIW I did not install SP2 but I have performed all of the security
updates which were recommended and I have no problem with NC.

I hope this is of some use.

Thanks for your help, Don F.
I already bookmarked the link you sent me which I find
very interesting (although it does not refer to my specific problem).
I am sure it will be very useful in the future.
I'll keep searching for the solution.

Thanks again
Paul

Thanks for your help Curtis.

I tried unsuccessfully removing the old NCE software and also cleaning
all the registry files let behind using Reg Organizer.

Now I just reinstalled Windows-XP/SP2, then NCE and upgraded
to the latest version and everything seems to be working OK.

Thanks again,
Paul.
