Easier no doubt but better is highly subjective and questionable.

New inkjet inks (both dye and pigment) are claimed to have good
stability as well. So I don't see any reason to pine after the
"good old days" of dye transfer.


Claiming longevity is one thing, being archival is usually completely
another. As has been pointed out time and again, with digital there
are a lot of factors other then just the type of inks being used. The
carrier for pigments is one significant concern.
