bracketing & exposure compensation

om... I have a canon G5, my problem is that in full manual mode ,the exposure bracketing & exposure compensation functions are not available, does anyone know how to perform these functions using another method, please help. Dave. You don't need it in full manual - that's the point of manual mode. Besides, how would the camera know how to bracket or do exposure compensation? i.e. would it bracket/compensate with shutter speed or aperture? Mark |

Dave. I don't know if your Canon is like mine, but in the back of my manual there's a chart that list which functions are available in the different modes. On my camera, exposure bracketing is only available in Program, Shutter Priority, and Aperture Priority modes. Exposure compensation is available in every mode except Auto and Manual. |

Besides, how would the camera know how to bracket or do exposure compensation? i.e. would it bracket/compensate with shutter speed or aperture? It could, and I would even consider it useful sometimes, shoot at the manually-set exposure, and then at a higher and lower exposure -- just what I'd do if bracketing manually, only much faster. Compensation could offset the meter reading -- but I do feel, personally, that I'd rather it didn't; when thinking manual I've got decades of habits that would be confused by that. -- David Dyer-Bennet, , http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/ RKBA: http://noguns-nomoney.com/ http://www.dd-b.net/carry/ Pics: http://dd-b.lighthunters.net/ http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/ Dragaera/Steven Brust: http://dragaera.info/ |

P-mode. Oops, misread full manual mode as automatic. Manual is Manual exposure all the way. Exposure compensation is only possible by varying exposure time or aperture by hand. Bart |

On a related note: I have a car with an automatic transmission. My problem is that I'd like change the gears manually. I have searched the internet, with no acceptable solution in sight. Please help! If your going to post a comment on this thread, no matter how useless it is, please make sure you have a basic understanding of how to construct a sentence. Like putting the word "to" (read slowly) in between "like" and "change",you neanderthal. "you're" He means "you're" comma space nextword nextword+1 |
