I have thousands of dia slides from the "old days". Is there any simple way
to make jpg's of them? A scanner would of course do the job, but it would
take ages. Would prefer to put some equipment on my D70s and do it that way.
Any experience?

A slide copier rig should do okay. Not sure about how well they deal
with the frame size. Eg, can you move the slide far enough out and
focus on it? There is one for $50 in the B&H catalog, but it looks
fixed in terms of length ...it would crop the image on the D70. There
may be other devices out there... Bellows?

Some Nikon scanners can use a slide feeder. Set it up and go to bed.
You'll still have lots of adjusting to do afterwards.

Cheers,
Alan
