Lr 6 "Still syncing--but to What?
When I try to quit Lr 6 I am warned that "204 photos are still syncing
with Lightroom Mobile." That's my entire mobile collection. Lightroom Mobile on my iPhone and my iPad tells me that both devices are up to date. A newly added photo from my desktop Mac showed up instantly on my mobile thingies. So in view of the report from my iOS devices "All up to date," to what place is Lightroom "still syncing" my photos? I would like to know the path between my HD and my iOS devices. Are the photos going directly to my iOS devices via Adobe's channels, or are they being held (stored long-term) in the cloud in addition to being on my HD? If so, is there a URL or an utility that can show me my directory in that cloud so that I can see what is in it? I have "Creative Cloud Files" in the sidebar in my Finder window in OS X, but the directory is empty. Where is that directory? Local, or on an Adobe server? It would be handy to have a graphic map showing how Adobe's cloud storage works, i.e., how it handles files. I have searched for such a map, but have not found it. Thanks! -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |

So in view of the report from my iOS devices "All up to date," to what place is Lightroom "still syncing" my photos? All that means is the sync connctinon is still maintained so that any edits you mak on you iOS devices are immediately synced to your desktop. Th same is true the othere way. If you are working on an image file, or virtual copy in LR and want to add it to one of the synced collections, just drag the thumbnal and drop it on that particular collection folder and since it is "still syncing" that newly added image is available in LR Mobile on both of your iOS devices. I would like to know the path between my HD and my iOS devices. If so, is there a URL or an utility that can show me my directory in that cloud so that I can see what is in it? The first thing to understand is that the only thing being synced between Lightroom and Lightroom Mobile are *Smart Previews* not full resolution files. By using *Smart Previews* edits made in LR Mobile are available to LR CC. I have "Creative Cloud Files" in the sidebar in my Finder window in OS X, but the directory is empty. Where is that directory? Local, or on an Adobe server? Both. When you installed the Creative Cloud App, and since you are using a Mac, in any open Finder window you should find a "Creative Cloud Files" folder. Much like Dropbox and Box.com, this is your CC files sync folder. Anything you drop in that will be synced to the Adobe servers while remaining on your hard drive. If you access your CC account via the web those same files can be found there. In the web browser access you can choose sharing options. If the CC app is running you should see a CC icon in the menu bar, there you can also access the folder or the web site. So, in a Finder window you should see something such as this: https://app.box.com/s/1q5ibjr3hu03jk5e6379dr67tnnmlvcb After logging in to your account on the Adobe site you should be able to navigate to you CC folder & files; https://app.box.com/s/enquwymzmc3rbvtls5o7kzdla9n9kbkk https://app.box.com/s/ke7d54aw8yaah7bqe7gv1yijut0zauay Open a folder https://app.box.com/s/f6ymr7tt27w9q3v7dwzb8cmcvqs5otj7 Double click on an image to show details: You can choose to create or delete public links for folders or individual files, including RAW files, so that you can share images or folders of images that way. https://app.box.com/s/o5gqakg92r597jzletnw7o9cvcbd3x92 https://app.box.com/s/2wvxr8zftve3dbswszzwfug7jn1b0y4y http://adobe.ly/1I9W9ah It would be handy to have a graphic map showing how Adobe's cloud storage works, i.e., how it handles files. That means that any images shot with the iDevice will be synced back to the desk top and will be found in two places *Collections* where they are actually *Smart Previews* not full size files, and in the Lightroom Library *Folders* where it will be nested in a folder with your mobile device's name/label in a sub-folder labeled "Imported Photos". It would be handy to have a graphic map showing how Adobe's cloud storage works, i.e., how it handles files. I have searched for such a map, but have not found it. Thanks! -- Regards, Savageduck |
