Primer on how/where to sell photos?

Supposing I am an amateur photographer and I take a few
photos that other people like a lot. Where can I sell them?
Do galleries normally accept let's say 10 photos in frames
to be sold? Is there a primer on how/where to sell photos?

Have you actually tried to do this? I mean sell them to people who like
them?

Galleries are there to make profits not to take chances for new
photographers. Why not get a folio of work and visit a few places first,
then at least you'll know what the general attitude is towards it.

Or place some work on line in some of the picture libraries and see if
they sell.

You really have to sit down and think where you can sell (specifically)
how much you want for the pictures and then wait to see if there is any
reaction.

My impression was that selling art online is pointless,
because there's a glut of people doing it from all over the world
for one thing, but also that people who are buying expect
to receive a CD anyway.
