God grief, 223... He merely pointed out a legitimate posting problem.
That would only imply "asshole" to someone in dire need of thicker skin.

Some nice work. Please contribute to this forum and not use it purely as an
advertising medium. Your contributions here will be most appreciated.

Hi Thanks for your comments. I wasn't sure about the tags, I looked
for a preview button, but didn't see one, so i figured i'd give it a
shot. Leve and learn.

On the advertising medium, does anyone know of a good way to increase
site traffic.

Thanks.

So num-nums like you have something to comment on. He asked for comments
and suggestions. Real news readers, such as Agent do not process html,
such
as the href he posted. So I had to manually copy and paste into my
browser. Had he simply posted the url in plain text, it could have been
automatically launched. Seems my reply was more constructive then your
name
calling.

um, he did post the url. It was the last line of his post. No need to cut
and paste.

Not really. We both use Agent, and when I double clicked on the
URL contained in the HTML, Agent immediately launched the web page
in Opera, my default web browser. Copy/pasting works but it isn't
necessary. We're both using old versions of Agent, yours being 1.x,
mine 2.x, but I don't recall that version 1.x didn't have the
ability to launch URLs, be they HTTP, NTTP, email or whatever.
Agent has configurable options in General Preferences to deal with
URLs, and the predefined ones, at least in version 2.x include http,
https, icq, ICY, ldap, mailto, MMS, MMST, MMSU, MSBD, msn, news,
nntp, outlook, pmn, various RealPlayer thingies, rhap, rlogin, rtsp,
SC, shell, SHOUT, snews, sonicstage, sonicstages, stssync, telnet,
tn3270, UVOX, vnd.ms.radio, wais, x-eudora-option and ymsgr.
There's also an option to allow launching of URLs when they're
double-clicked, but AFAIK that has always been enabled by default.
If it isn't, you can right click on the URL and select Launch URL
from the list box that pops up. If version 1.x can't handle URLs,
version 2.x should accept your old registration key if you care to
download it. FWIW, version 2 is quite similar in operation to
version 1. It's versions 3 and above that are substantially
different. They're much more capable, but also have much steeper
learning curves.

Hi John,

The best ways I know to increase traffic a

1. Have good content - specifically content that people will seek out.
You've got a good start with some nice photos. However, you may want
to ask yourself: "what about these photos (or other content) will
bring people to my site?" Sometimes that's not easy to answer. But one
thing to do is post things like lists of tips, some kind of procedure
you've developed for processing images in photoshop, some kind of
camera tweak, etc.

2. Post links to your site here and in other photo groups.

3. Trade links with other sites similar to yours (that means you have
to create a "links" page.

4. Make sure your META tags are in order (i.e. a good list of relevant
search terms)

5. Have descriptive copy on your site that is carefully written to be
A) relevant and B) conducive to search engines identifying your site
as having good content related to popular search terms (see #1)

6. If you want to pay for some advertising, you might want to start
with AdWords on Google. It costs as much as you want it to, and is a
good way to learn what people are really searching for.

7. Update your site regularly.
