Who sells Kodak 100?

1) Does anyone know who sells Kodak Gold 100 these days?
2) Is it me or Kodak Gold isn't as good as the 200?

The mail-order NYC retailers sell it for $1.39 to $1.99 a roll.
Adorama, B&H, etc.

In most market it's packaged as "Bright Sun" now, not Gold.

It's you. Kodak 200 is very grainy, albeit high saturation
and contrast. Skin tones are much worse than the 100.
If you want a faster film, Ultra Color 400 is much better.

The old Royal Gold 200 and 400 are now sold as "High Definition". I
don't know what the stuff they sell in Stop & Shop is. Some of it is
made in China.

Is this related to the Kodak T500? The speed is close and the characteristics
you describe is very similar. I used the 500 for my last feature film and I
thought it was impressive for a 500 speed film.

Which 500T, 5218/7218 or 5229/7229 or 5279/7279?

The films might be somewhat related technologically, maybe using T-grain
and 2-electron sensitization. But 500T is a tungsten film with relatively
low color saturation, whereas 400UC is a daylight film with bold reds,
good skin tones, and blue-retaining sky on overexposure.

Do you work in Bollywood, Jay? I really like Indian movies. The scenery
is usually great and it's preferable to see a man and woman dancing
instead of car chases and guns firing. However I always get a good laugh
watching a car going around a corner at 2 MPH with tires squealing.

Vision 2.

I have done some work in India, tho I am based in US. I used 500T for
day-for-night and to match shot with digital. 500T grain structure is similar
to digital, tho "speed" of digital is about 320. I directed and DPed a feature
near where "A Bridge on the River Kwai" was shot. Its one of my fav. films
(well, most of David Leans, inc. Lawrence of Arabia.)

Very good work is done India, but gets buried in thousands of the run of the
mill stuff that come out every year. Even the most expensive movies are low
budget by Hollywood.

On an average, they are looking for entertainment at the end of the day. There
is a need to roll comedy, drama, fantasy, action, etc. into one movie. Most
people can afford to buy only two or three tickets a year to go to the theater.
You need to give them a balanced dose for their money.

Films are also a social guide. You need to worry about taboos and whats
socially "right." For example, layers/judges, police etc. are glorified in the
movies and are held to a higher standard, tho everyone knows of corruption. I
guess they figure, at least in the film let them be good: Hope.

Films like Silence of the Lamb--excellent script, well acted, well directed and
it is overall an excellent picture--but will never run over there.

However I always get a good laugh
watching a car going around a corner at 2 MPH with tires squealing. BRBR

Yes, but cars over there are not designed to corner well. They have long-travel
(truck like) suspensions, designed to absorb large bumps, (yes worse than
driving in DC) their cornering ability is compromised; I found out through hard
way :-)
