Default ? what my camera sees, via my pc monitor

I have an Olympus C730 and I would like to know if I can hook it to my pc to
get a real-time picture on my PC monitor of what it is seeing without
releasing the shutter. I have a remote to handle the zoom and shutter. These
are indoor shots that I need a larger view of , before shooting.
Thanks

Why not just hook it up, using the directions in the manual, and finding out
how well it works?

The only usb tool is has is to upload pictures. I was hoping for a trick or
perhaps a software solution. When I go to airshows there is always fellow
snapping shots of folks in a cockpit. He is controlling the camera with a
laptop and has a real-time picture on the monitor. I don't need the controls
just the picture on the monitor while do a setup.

He's using a Canon.

Don't you have video out on the camera?

Yes I have video out but the cable has an RCA plug and I don't have a video
capture card. I was hoping for a usb path.

Sorry, did not see the PC Monitor bit, assuming you meant a TV.
The procedure will work on a TV with A/V inputs, however.

There is a piece of software that will give real time pictures from
olympus cameras. I had downloaded it some time ago to use with my C740
and recently trashed it because I have never used it.

The downside is I no longer have the url where I downloaded it but
remember I got it from this news groups a year or two ago. Search the
archives and spend some time googling and I believe you can find it. I
believe it or an abbreviated version was free.
