look at a retina imac.

I'm not sure that I want 5K and I want a matching screen.

There are a lot of 4k monitors available. As to the Retina monitor, it
is great for viewing pictures, but I don't like to work on a glossy screen.

And of course, you know my preferences. Despite you protestations, I
will work with such tools as I deem best for me.

Many years ago I went to a computer store. The sales clerk, who was
quite knowledgeable and an MIT graduate in computer science, advised me
that he had no system that was suitable for me, and made a
recommendation, which I implementation. Although he lost that particular
sale, I subsequently referred him a much higher paying position. It was
a win-win situation for both of us. All because he understood my needs,
and suggested a workable suggestion. BTW, his suggestion was to
literally spend about four times as much as I was originally thinking.

An anticipated response.

....and he was working in a computer store. A lot of good being an MIT
grad did him.

advised me that he had no system that was suitable for me,

So he was good at character analysis.

and made a recommendation, which I implementation. Although he lost

So you just used him, and denied him the sale.

I subsequently referred him a much higher paying position.

Kneeling.
BTW: How did you garner influence in job placement in that organization?

It was a win-win situation for both of us.

Only if he actually got a higher paying job where he could put that MIT
degree to work.

All because he understood my needs, and suggested a workable
suggestion. BTW, his suggestion was to literally spend about four times

Sure. Start high & build from there.

This tale seems a tad apocryphal.

it has nothing to do with your preferences.

i'm telling you the characteristics of the display.

the current displays are nothing at all like glossy displays a decade
ago which were *very* glossy and very annoying.

the new ones are not very glossy and you won't notice it.

Yes

Not everybody can find a job right out of school.

Closer to needs analysis.

Only in the Spring

They were a client who needed someone with his skills. I introduced him,
only because I felt comfortable with his skills and integrity.

Not at all. In those days, it was not unusual for me and those I
associated with, to introduce people to situations that would help them.
Others did it for me. That's just the way things worked, and it made for
some pleasant relationships.

I know. You just have an obsessive need to argue, combined with the
inability to admit being wrong.

for a recent display? when it's in use?

maybe when it's off you might notice the difference but not when it's
in use.

but even if you supposedly did (which i doubt), it's a very small price
to pay for the superiority of a retina display.

Yes. I am the one who arrogantly presumes to tell others what is best
for them
I am the one who has a hissy fit, because someone said they did not like
an Apple monitor.

You are a pathetic, arrogant psycho.

I am the one who has a hissy fit, because someone said they did not like
an Apple monitor.

You are a pathetic, arrogant psycho.
