Considering what CHDK allows you to do, the simple act of loading the CHDK onto the memory card(s) so it will run seems a bounty, not a curse. Further, it's less prone to unintended consequences. If you ever load a buggy CHDK simply removing the card and re-starting restores the camera. Stop bitching over the good work others have done and for which you get the benefit without an iota of effort or a dime of cost. Documentation for using CHDK in SX30 needs some more work. So work on it. -- gmail originated posts filtered due to spam. |

So work on it. I'm not complaining about it at all - I've never used it. I was simply attempting to explain how it works. Yes, it would be very convenient if you were on the road and found that, for one reason or another, you needed to get some additional memory cards. |

I'm sorry I didn't make that clear. attempting to explain how it works. Yes, it would be very convenient if you were on the road and found that, for one reason or another, you needed to get some additional memory cards. When I'm on the road with my camera I bring a laptop so in the above case I could either offload images to the laptop or use the laptop to put the firmware on the new memory cards. -- gmail originated posts filtered due to spam. |
