Default Loading film in Fuji GSW690ii

Hi,

I recently bought a Fuji GSW690ii on Ebay, but with no manual. I've run a
film through the camera, and it works fine, (although I've discovered I
need a spirit level), but I have a few questions about its operation:

On my first film, I lost all but 1cm of my first exposure (which appears
to have been made on the leader) and had about 10cm of unexposed film at
the end. This suggests that I didn't wind on the film leader far enough
before closing the camera back. How far should I wind the leader?

Till the line on the film lines up with the mark on the film gate.

How do I do time exposures?

This is the only thing I hate about these. The "T" setting doesn't close the
shutter til you either move the shutter speed dial or wind the camera. What
you'll have to do is open the len, then cover the len to end the exposure.

The pressure plate has '120' inscribed on it. Does this mean that I need a
different plate to load 220 film? Or do I just set the selector on the top
plate? What does the arrow in the small window of the pressure plate denote?

How do I do time exposures?

Any tips for using an ND grad filter with a rangefinder? Anything else I
should know?

Thanks
Andy

Get ground glass to fit the film gate (local glass shop or DIY - Google for
how-to's) and a darkcloth. Obviously, this means one look per eight shots of
120, but it works.

Good idea! I might have a spare 5x4 glass soemwhere that I can cut down. I
guess once I've had some practise at this I could position the filter by
eye, knowing roughly where the gradation will fall.

Turn it over.

With a locking cable release, I guess.

Andrew.
