Default Image manipulation & editing program

I believe that I may be ready for this now...
Is it Adobe Photoshop elements 5.0 that many of you have?
or would anyone recommend another program?

Thanks

Fred

I prefer Paint Shop Pro from Corel. It is WAY cheaper and is, in my
opinion, easier to use.
However you can only edit in RGB colourspace and it doesn't do RAW files
all too well.
It includes lots of useful functions such as 'smart photo fix' which
does a LOT of enhancements in one go.
You're choice in the end =D
