FS - Karsh Book

For Sale - Karsh "Portraits of Greatness". This is the first of four very
definitive books of Karsh with the portraits printed in Sheet Fed
Photogravure on a velvet like finish paper similar to Kodak Opal V paper
that Karsh originally used. If these prints are mounted and framed, they
would be almost indistinguishable from an original print. A pamphlet
explaining the printing process and philosophy of the edge bound pages comes
with the book. This book was originally published in 1959 and is printed in
the Netherlands. This the second edition printed in 1960. It contains 96
portraits of, among others, Pablo Casals, Winston Churchill, Albert
Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Lawrence Olivier, George Bernard Shaw plus many
others. The other books in this series contain only 48 portraits, so this
one has double the value. The pages are edge bound so that they can easily
be removed for framing. These books are becoming very rare and much sought
after and usually sell in the $150 - $200 when available and is becoming
more valuable since Karsh's recent passing. This copy is in excellent
condition with Dust Cover, however, the dust cover is a bit ragged, there is
some slight discoloring on the edges of some the pages. This does not affect
the pictures in any way. There are many people now buying these books and
selling off the individual portraits. This also makes these books more
