What did you think is being said regarding the Eric surfing shot that nobody can see? Oh heck, while we're waiting for Eric's surfing shot... Some time ago I was out taking some boardwalk shots to play with in HDR. [PeterN has his crop thing, I have my graphic arts cartoonification thing.] I created this cartoonification for my end of summer twitter header. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uj48l4f1h7...B01c%5D%20.jpg [Feel free to pick on it if you wish, but hey ... it's only twitter.] Anyway I noticed some surfers off in the distance and snapped a few shots. It was a small surf day so not much for the surfers to work with. As a further caveat I changed lenses but forgot to reset the HDR bracketing setting, so lots of poor surf shots. That said, here's a link to one of the surfing sequences I got: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vog09cq1w...KuWxyapPRBhlQa The sequence goes from bottom turn to close-out and washing machine. ~~ Damn, I really need to schedule some beach/surfing photo shoot days! -- == Later... I expect there will be plenty of action and emotion in the next few seconds. Nope! I see nothing to provoke a call to action, or get emotional over. No doubt the lighting can be criticised but what can you do? No doubt, if there was any lighting, or an image. The photographer seems to have got there for the golden hour but the shadow of the wave got in the way. You have to be there when the surf and surfers are, and make the best of whatever you are served. I guess. You 'guess'? -- Regards, Eric Stevens |
