Kodak film had sensitivity extending well into the IR range below visible light. Other films, like Konica's, really are just extended red films which will give something of an IR effect but are not suitable for scientific purposes. You will find some spectral sensitivity data comparing films at: http://photo.net/photo/edscott/ir000020.htm And a listing of IR films at: http://www.pauck.de/marco/photo/infrared/comparison_of_films/comparison_of_films.html I think Kodak still makes a true IR film for aerial camera use. Some sizes may be adaptable to sheet film cameras. -- --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA |
