I love my Digital Rebel
Had my DRebel for about a year now. The first extra lens I bought was
Canon's 28-135mm IS (Image Stabilization). I actually didn't come from a film background. My DRebel was my first camera, but I'm an Engineer and a quick study and I quickly realized what a benefit the image stabilization was. I can take hand-held, very sharp pictures as slow as 1/4 sec. I tend to like taking pictures at night or low light and sometimes, hauling out the tripod is a pain. Works great even in normal light when you need to choke the aperture down for more depth of focus. Even with less aperture and slower shutter speeds that result, the IS allows you to take a reasonably to very sharp picture. Neal "John Tucker" wrote in message news:%Rqpc.6645$qA.727803@attbi_s51... The game was a bust---my nephew's team went down 11-1 and it was called for the "blowout" rule. But at the park, on top of about five different light poles, were osprey nests. And boy those suckers were active yesterday. One of them was flying around with a fish in its talons, at times lighting on a power pole to peck at its meal. I put on the 80-200 lense and hit the jackpot. Got some simply incredible close-up shots of the osprey flying in BEAUTIFUL sunset light. This may be old hat for some of you who have had digital SLRs for a while, but for me the ability to take these sorts of action shots is incredible, after years using digital cameras that take much too long to focus and take a picture. Rick, Are you planning to put these images online? I'd love to see them since I'm thinking about a Digital Rebel myself. John |

Rick, Are you planning to put these images online? I'd love to see them since I'm thinking about a Digital Rebel myself. John John I have the Conon EOS300D (EOS Rebel) I have owned it for around 1 month now and I am very pleased with it, I have never owned a digital SLR before and only had a Fuji Finepix 1400 Zoom which I still use for quick snap type shots. I have found the EOS very easy to use and I learn new things each time I use it, I take all my pics on the large setting, not used RAW yet as I want to get the hang of the camera first before I delve too deep. Some of the photo's I have taken are here if you want to take a look... http://photobucket.com/albums/v476/Goatsmilkuk/Goa/ In the Goa album the first 9 are taken with the Fuji and the rest with the EOS Regards Stuart |
