That's Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti. He dips the buns in fruit
punch to make them go down easier. That's why his hands are red.
Among his accomplishments are eating 42 Peanut Butter and Jelly
sandwiches in 10 minutes and 29 Waffle House waffles in 10 minutes.

Amazing that I didn't recognize these celebrities.

Is it me, or is "competitive eating" sub-human? I can't watch it. GD
disgusting.

It's a completely tasteless activity.

At that speed, you're probably correct that taste has little to do
with it.
These guys are tremendous athletes. I'll probably never win the
Masters, but I'll come closer to winning the Masters than I will to
eating 100 hamburgers in 8 minutes.

Enjoy it while you can. Some day, one of the competitors will die
right on stage and all the pantywaists will be clamoring to ban the
sport immediately.

Sport???

A competition, yes. "Training," Yes. A sport? Athletes? No, no, no.

I wonder if the ancient Romans competed inside the vomitorium, as long
as we're on this mouth watering subject.

That's what we used to call the cafeteria at work....."The Vomitorium".

You need to get out more and get a little culture, Tony. These
competitive eaters are pretty cool.

If I want to watch competitive eaters, I'll get two dogs and one bowl.

You don't have a dog? How sad! You ought to see how Remy and Max fight
over a piece of bacon.

I have one dog, but would need a second to have a competition.

Here's a photo of our dog on our back porch. It's slightly
out-of-focus, has poor depth-of-field, and shows the dog from the
angle that you seem to like for doggie pix, but I didn't want to
submit an image better than one of yours.

That's a dog? My cat, Max, is a lot bigger than that curtain ****er. You
need a 200/2 Nikkor to optimize that shot.

Nonsense. That's just a big milk box that makes the dog seem small.

Right! That looks like a deformed Yorkie. Tony, I know you love it, but
next time get yourself a real dog, not one of those curtain ****ers.

She's a standard (full-bred but not pedigreed) cocker spaniel of
average size for the breed. A bit wide in the beam as aged females
get. I think she's about 40 pounds now. She's 16 years-old.

She needs a trim badly, but gets very snappish with the groomer
because her old bones ache so much she doesn't like to be handled.
We've never had her groomed with one of those fru-fru spaniel cuts.

With that expression, that cat is a dead ringer for Bucky Katt of the comic
strip "Get Fuzzy".
