No mention of the camera body used, it's a noisy "Toy camera" according to the experts on this forum :-) That's OK as long as there's good light. Here's my same setup on a $5 bill: http://www.flickr.com/photos/edgehil...7622357931874/ -that's a full pixel crop... like I said, not very sharp pixel for pixel but still amazing detail at 5:1 magnification. My shot was full frame image, sorry for not pixel peeping with ya. That's a lot bigger in the frame. A year or so ago we had a 5-dollar-bill-shooting-competition showing this same detail. More like 4 or 5 years ago, here's the thread: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.p...7ced4678bb761c I think Brett (Annika) won. What I learned this time is diffraction becomes a problem at those crazy magnifications. The crop I showed was wide open at f/3.5 and if I stop down to f/8 you see little circles instead of detail but f/3.5 has such a shallow depth of field that it's really hard to even get a piece of paper flat & aligned correctly :-) -- Paul Furman www.edgehill.net www.baynatives.com all google groups messages filtered due to spam |
